Home

Around 10pm tonight, my sweet Katie went home.  She asked that everyone pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the repose of her soul.  At your next opportunity, I ask that you pray one, if nothing else than to honor her wishes.  If you haven't prayed the Chaplet before, go here for a step-by-step.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support.  We have been loved beyond anything I could have ever imagined.  You have been in our prayers, and please know that Katie is now praying for you in eternity.

I'll post something more complete in the next few days.

David

  2. I went to mass last Saturday evening, before I knew that Katie received anointing of the sick. After recieving the Holy Eucharist, Katie immediately came to mind and I began to pray for her, David, and the kids.
Then, the Eucharistic Ministers for the sick and homebound came forward to receive a blessing before taking Communion to their respective places. In the middle of my own prayers, I heard, as clear as a bell, "until we meet again in eternal glory". I don't know how to articulate what happened at that moment, other than I was overwhelmed and acutely aware of the unification of the Church militant, penitent, and triumphant. The Church Triumphant was brilliantly present and joy filled, and while Katie was still with us on earth in that moment, the joy was inexplicably connected to Katie's journey. It is difficult to articulate the moment, but the juxtaposition of joy and sorrow was so overwhelming that I wept.
It wasn't until I got home that my husband told me that Katie had received the anointing of the sick earlier that day. Still deeply moved by the experience at mass, I understood how powerful and present God is in Katie's journey home. He called her home through the merciful wounds of Jesus and into the Triumphant Church. She humbly asked us to journey with her, igniting our faith and calling us to prayer.

She offered her life for the glory of God and our intentions. There is no greater love. I am eternally grateful.

She continues to edify, even in her physical absence.

"To apprehend the point of intersection of the timeless with time, is an occupation for the saint -
No occupation either, but something given and taken, in a lifetime's death in love, ardour and selflessness and self-surrender." T.S. Eliot

Eternal rest grant unto Katie, O Lord.
Let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest In peace, Amen.

May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

    Katie, pray for us.

David, we will honor Katie's wishes and continue to lift you and the kids in prayer.

  11. I had not heard of this prayer, but I followed your link and prayed for Katie just now. It's cloudy here in Utah today, but the sun just came out from behind the mountains. She and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
