Out of Surgery

Katie is out of surgery and recovering well.  The doctors were able to treat the blockage and she should be eating again in a few days.  We're very excited to see her get her nutrition back on the right track and move on to the next phase of treatment.

Please continue to keep Katie in your prayers.  We love you, and may God abundantly bless you.

  1. Praying for you with all my might. Just came upon your blog from someone else who is praying for you already. And in that spirit, I encourage you to consider the following very seriously from someone who has seen it matter in aggressive bowel and pancreatic diseases clinically: please please get 25(OH)D level run and consider anything under the top of the lab range as encouraging the disease right now. It can make a tremendous difference to get D optimal fast with your other treatments. Read up about the high dose D protocols that are impacting aggressive pancreatic and bowel cancers at all stages. You will read some miraculous things, but the clinical research is there and it's solid. Grassroots Health initiative has a lot of research published on this topic (including a detailed graph that shows levels in relation to disease occurrence). So does Dr. Coimbra in Colombia, though more about immune function in specific there. God bless you and your family in the days ahead and I hope this message is a blessing for you and your family and that you can talk about this with your surgeon and oncologist, if it isn't already a prioritised part of your treatment plan. Anything under 60 ng/ml is working against you. Under 40 ng/ml can encourage disease incidence, tumor growth, metastasis, and recurrence as you will read. Hope recovery from surgery goes well!

  2. Hi Katie, I have not been on your blog in awhile. It sounds like you are tackling this next round with such faith and courage. I passed your name on today to the gentleman we discussed last week. Just wanted to let you know. Rest up. Hope you are able to eat more soon. Will keep you in my prayers.

  3. David and Kate,

The Lord has been laying your healing and comfort for you and your family on my heart very, very often since I heard about your diagnosis. Several times a day, when the Father brings you to my mind, I pray for you and for the intercession of the saints. The Lord cares for you all so deeply. I am deeply humbled that we serve a God who listens to His people.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Christ is mightily glorified by your words and service to Him. Thank you for being such faithful instruments of His grace.

The TSCS faculty are praying over you all. We're looking hopefully toward the Father on your behalf, and won't cease in our intercessions for you.

    Peace and grace,
    Lily Yee

  4. Katie,
I don't know you personally, but I do remember you from when I(we) attended franciscan university. I live in the Houston area so if there is any way I can be of assistance to your family please let me know. (I make a great babysitter!) You are in my prayers.
